 《Support and Gesture 지탱과 제스처》는 ‘움직임이 작성’되고 ‘움직임을 작성’한 두 작가의 기하학적인 문서를 열람한다. 공연이 진행되는 동안 무용수가 무대에서 운용하는 시간과 공간을 동시적으로 펼쳐낸 것과 같이, 두 작가는 수직선과 수평선에 따라 동작을 구조화함으로써 움직임의 흐름을 상세하게 기술하고 있다. 아감벤의 용어에 따르면 춤은 그 어떤 것이든(whatever)의 상태이다. 움직임의 다섯 가지 요소—신체 Body, 행동 Action, 공간 Space, 에너지 Effort, 형태 Shape—는 그 무엇과도 조직화될 수 있는 가능성, 여러 종류의 수행을 가능케 할 잠재성을 담지한다. 두 작가의 작업을 연동하며 조형적 형식의 다양한 가능성을 열어다 줄 실마리를 찾길 바란다.

Support and Gesture explores the geometric frameworks created by two artists who both "write movement" and "are written by movement." Just as dancers unfold the dimensions of time and space during a performance, the two artists meticulously detail the flow of movement by structuring their actions along vertical and horizontal lines. According to Agamben, dance represents a state of “whatever.” The five elements of movement—Body, Action, Space, Effort, and Shape—embody the potential to be organized in myriad ways and enable various types of performances. By engaging with the practices of these two artists, this exhibition endeavors to reveal clues to the diverse potentialities of formal expression.
