팩션은 2024년 9월 19일부터 25일까지 이예지, 문예원 2인전 《a는 b의 손에 코를 박고 그리고 c》를 개최한다. 전시는 패브릭 설치, 드로잉 26점과 영상 2점을 아우르는 작품 총 28점을 선보인다. 제목은 함께 작업해 온 두 작가가 미술을 대하는 태도의 차이를 함축한다. 여기서 a는 이예지, c는 문예원, b는 미술을 가리킨다. 이예지(b.1996)는 작업적 딜레마가 생기면 이를 정면 돌파한다. 작가는 매일같이 많은 가상 이미지에 노출되며 현실감을 잃는 상황에 피로감을 느꼈다. 그 반감으로 대상에서 진짜 생명력을 찾고자 표피 너머의 물리적 실체에 관심을 갖고, 천에 그림을 그린 후 공간에 설치작업으로 구현한다. 문예원(b.1999)은 사회와 거리를 두고 거대 시스템을 관조한다. 여러 유형의 인간 관계에서 규칙을 발견하고 이를 영상 문법으로 풀어낸다. 아이돌 팬덤 여성끼리의 유대를 촘촘한 끈을 엮는 수작업으로, 머물고 떠나는 사랑의 무상함을 끝없는 비행, 매듭짓기에 비유한다.

From September 19 to 25, 2024, Faction is pleased to present 𝙖 𝙗𝙪𝙧𝙮 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙣𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙗’𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘, an intriguing exhibition in duo featuring the works of Yejee Lee and Yewon Mun. In the exhibition, ’a‘ represents Yejee Lee, ‘b’ the realm of art, and ‘c’ stands for Yewon Mun. Comprising 28 works, including two fabric installations, twenty-four drawings, and two films, the exhibition explores the distinctive methodologies of the two artists.
Yejee Lee(b.1996), via her installations and fabric paintings, delves into the tangible realities that underpin everyday virtual experiences, seeking a deeper authenticity. Yewon Mun(b.1999) adopts a more analytical approach, using her art to investigate large-scale societal systems and the patterns of human interaction within them, often capturing fleeting emotions and relationships through the metaphorical use of dense string weavings and knotting.
